Hi, I'm Adilene Camarena,

I grew up in Hillsboro, Texas. I was involved in marching band, colorguard, tennis and culinary arts. Once, I graduated from High School, I furthered my education at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, where I received my associates degree in Culinary Arts.

After, graduation college, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. 8 months passed and I was beyond exhausted of the same work routine. I needed a break. A close friend reached out and asked me to go visit her. As I was looking at flights, other flights and travel ads popped up on my google search. My curiosity took the best of me and I quickly looked through a few sites, did research and reviews on one of the travel pages.

For about two weeks I contemplated whether it was safe or if it was worth visiting another country by myself. I knew if I didn't take that risk now, I would never do it. I booked the trip to London, Paris Florence, and Rome. Super touristy, I know. Little did I know that in less than a month, my perspective on life would change tremendously.

May 4, 2017, was the date of my flight from DFW to London.  I fell in love with the food, languages, cultures, sceneries, buildings, etc. It was a dream come true. A week after coming back from the trip, I couldn't stop thinking, replaying memories, or even talking about my experience, so I booked another trip. In which I got to spend Christmas in Europe. Prague, Rome for the second time and then a tour around Spain.

Within the month of being back from the second trip, I spontaneously packed my clothes and moved to Indianapolis, in which I experienced for 7 months. During my time in Indianapolis, I got back in baking. I experimented on desserts more. I perfected the craft of a delicious tres leches cake. I constantly got orders and I just wanted to get better at creating desserts. I practiced over and over.

Before moving back to Texas, I had a trip to Costa Rica. A trip with a different scenery from the previous two. By that point of my life,  I wanted others to experience traveling and what other way than recreating desserts and bringing the taste of other places to people.  When the chance to open my own place was a possibility, I knew I wanted to make it happen and create a place like no other. A unique place. A place like Around The World  Bakery.
